Sending me emails saying I logged into my journal from an unauthorized location.  Since when do you track that kind of stuff?

There's security and then there's big brother is watching....I haven't decided where this falls just yet.

 Story found here: http://www.dailydot.com/news/livejournal-shut-down-us-office/

And interesting enough, nothing on LJ about this....

I subscribe to various sundry of communities - anything from crock pot cooking to werewolf bigbang.

I have found more often than not I just scroll on past the postings from these communities to get to what I am really interested in - the postings by my friends. Sometimes I will bookmark a posting thinking I will come back later to read it - usually I don't.

So, this morning I did a little journal housekeeping and unwatched, unfollowed and unsubscibed to the vast majority of these communities.  Pretty much the only ones left are NCIS related.  Looks like I am a one trick pony in more ways than one.

It made a huge difference in my journal - now I can focus on the things that are really important to me - my friends and my show.

Should have done this long ago!

Snaggled from several on my friends list.

So, kytivafan, your LiveJournal reveals…

You are… 1% unique, 9% peculiar, 31% interesting, 31% normal and 28% herdlike (partly because you, like everyone else, enjoy working out). When it comes to friends you are normal. In terms of the way you relate to people, you are keen to please. Your writing style (based on a recent public entry) is intellectual.

Your overall weirdness is: 19

(The average level of weirdness is: 28.
You are weirder than 43% of other LJers.)

Find out what your weirdness level is!

I actually like the changes you have made for this update.

I hope DW (soon) incorporates some of these - especially the spoiler tag and the sticky note and picture place holders.

*crosses fingers*

One of my entries didn't cross post earlier, so I am testing!

My friend [livejournal.com profile] proseac1. posted this is in her journal this morning.  It outlines why alot of folks are migrating from LJ to DW.

Though I am not ready to give up my LJ entirely (yet), I will be going back to the free version once my paid subscription expires later this year.  LJ will NOT be getting anymore of my money.

I plan to continue crossposting from DW to LJ (it will serve as my backup journal just in case anything happens to DW) and I will check it frequently for posts from my flist who don't migrate.  Just a note to those who haven't migrated: DW is free and it is amazing.  It is growing daily with all the LJ refugees and a good portion of the comms have already moved there.

It will be interesting to see how all this plays out and if LJ makes it long term considering they are "throwing away" a significant part of their user base.

I have always hated my username [personal profile] kytivafan  - when I set up my LJ journal I had no idea what I was doing.  I used the first thing that came to mind thinking I could change it later.  By the time I thought about changing it - I was already in too deep with [personal profile] kytivafan .

On DW - I will be known as [personal profile] dragonheart .

Why?  I love/collect dragons and Rae made me this awesome icon.

I am not ready to jump off the LJ ship just yet - I have waaaay too much effort invested here and I couldn't bear to leave my flist.

Here's hoping/praying/crossingmyfingers that LJ comes to their senses.

with all the changes going on at LJ - a few of us are considering abandoning ship and moving on over to DW.

If that is the case, I should probley give this puppy a test drive....

Downloaded Semagic and I thought it was working great until [livejournal.com profile] meekosan told me that my posts are messed up on her MYLJ page.
It seems everything looks fine when viewed thru the friends page.  Anyone have any suggestions?

I am moving steadily into the LJ is seriously ticking me off stage.
dragonheart: (Hug)
A Thank you to my friend [livejournal.com profile] nakeisha  for introducting me to Semagic.  I think it may solve all my LJ woes (at least until they change something else).

Nikki, you rock!

dragonheart: (Uggghhhh)

Everytime I try to post my fic - it acts all goofy - cuts won't work, lines get added - the formatting goes wonky.

I am not getting message notifications.  Anyone else having issues?

ETA: yeap.  LJ is having some message issues.  Not a biggie.
dragonheart: (Uggghhhh)

It took me literally at least 8 attempts to post my Dragon story last night - my cuts disappeared, then appeared again and then doubled up. And then when I tried to add tags - it keep giving me error messages.

I was doubting my sanity for a few minutes.

It was like LJ was messing with me - on purpose!  I swear I was beginning to take it personally because I could see that my friends seemed to be posting without issue.

I was convinced that LJ was taunting me - so I pulled this out of my gif file.  Photobucket

And it still seems to hate me today - it has kicked me out or timed out several times already this morning.

I am not getting comment / message notifications from postings.  Anyone else having this problem?

I see the message in the actual post -but it doesn't show up in my inbox --- strange
