It meant nothing to her, it was a tool from her former life and truthfully, she was creeped out whenever she happened to catch a glimpse of it.

The almond blossom tattoo was issued by Mossad before her first mission; while it was beautiful to look at, she could not forget its grisly purpose – death identification.

Symbolically leaving that life behind and celebrating her second Independence Day as a US citizen, she decided to alter the almond blossom into a red rose, the US national flower.

Ziva walked into the tattoo shop marked by Mossad and exited transformed by freedom
