blueeyedgirl83 got my thoughts a whirling

A comment made by [livejournal.com profile] blueeyedgirl83  got my thoughts a whirling - and not in a good way.  I won’t bore you with the details, but let me pose this question to you:

Do you think all the talk of weddings and marriage (8.19 Tell All) and the revelation of Tony’s past engagement and his desire to be happily married (8.22 Baltimore) coupled with MW’s comments in the TV Guide interview concerning the way he sees the Tony/EJ relationship is perhaps foreshadowing something?

[info]blueeyedgirl83 you may be onto something….. urggh!

I admit I haven't read the interview, what did MW have to say about the Tony/EJ relationship? Should I be worried?

[identity profile] nakeisha.livejournal.com 2011-05-04 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks.

I haven't read it all, I only read the EJ references. My take: she's definitely going to die. MW basically says Tony is very fond of her emotionally as well as sexually (something I don't think has come out at all in the show) and then mentions the other woman he truly loved and we know how that ended. So Tony and EJ will end; I'm fairly sure that will be with EJ's death, but I guess it may be with EJ going back to Rota asking Tony to go with her, Tony thinking about it and in the end deciding not to.

Well that's a possibility.

[Bad username or site: rigil_kent) @ livejournal.com] doesn't think EJ will die and says if she does that sets us up next season for angsty Tony going over the 'was she the one', kind of thing. And if Ray also died . . . That gives us both Tony and Ziva needing shoulders to cry on. I do hope not, I can't see any evidence that Tony and EJ have got that close.

Oh, indeed. And what actors say isn't canon nor taken in the context of canon. I'm just sure it's going to fizzle out one way or another.

Ugh. Just ... ugh.

Wondering how the antis, who have insisted that they want no romance on this show but have inexplicably embraced this chick (because she's not Ziva and they have that insane hatred for Ziva & Cote) can even begin to defend this.

I seriously wonder if Weatherly is doing an entirely different show from the one I've seen. *shakes head in disgust*

Yeah ... I don't think she's going to die, but I'm leaning more and more toward her career basically being kaput because she knows more about the P2P killer than she wants to admit. I posted my theories about that on my LJ...

I think its just sad that Weatherly has gotten so excited about this chick and yet, so many fans can't stand her...

I want it to be over, at the same time I fear what might happen.

The one thing I'm positive about (but would *love* to be proven wrong) is that despite all the shocks/surprises/edge of seat we've been promised, we won't get it.

Cynic, moi? You bet *g*

Sorry I messed your name up - I'm typing at an awkward angle at the moment, so my fingers don't seem to want to go where I want them to/expect them to.

That's an interesting thought, that she knows more than she's letting on. I'll toddle over there and have a look.

I agree. But at the same time I know there are a lot that really like her. Although whether they like her because she's 'her' or whether they like her because she isn't Ziva I wouldn't like to say.

my thoughts went in the wild wild direction of him maybe proposing to her - but it ends either in her death or her going back to Rota without him with perhaps him breaking it off because of something unforgivable she does, thus setting us up for angsty Tony and his lost love for S9.

That would be awfully quick, he only met her a few weeks ago!

As I said to [livejournal.com profile] rigel_kent, I'm reluctant to speculate anymore, think I'll just sit back and let it play out. Either way, I don't see EJ as a long-term influence on Tony, whether she dies or disappears for some other reason.

Wouldn't worry too much if I were you...

But at the same time I know there are a lot that really like her. Although whether they like her because she's 'her' or whether they like her because she isn't Ziva I wouldn't like to say.

The thing I've noticed about a lot of people who like her - and yeah, this is entirely anecdotal and not worth the digital paper its printed on - is that they are now defending everything they insisted they say they didn't want to see with Tony/Ziva. Office romance. Check. Said romance interfering with the job. Check. Constantly being bludgeoned by said romance instead of it just be a background element. Check. Utter lack of chemistry between characters involved in romance. check.

So yeah. I remain convinced that most of the people who "like" her are people who simply don't like Ziva or don't like Tony/Ziva.

YMMV

*Looks shifty*

Actually my mileage agrees totally with your mileage.

Interestingly, I have also seen several people who loved her in the first episode now express dislike of her because of the relationship she has with Tony as it's interfering with their ship (I'm sure you can guess what it is).

Oh no ... now i'm imagining a botched proposal by Tony with EJ letting him down really badly.

orry I put bad thoughts in your head LOL
I'm just thinking up worst case scenarios to hopefully soften the blow of what will actually happen on the show ;)

All kidding aside, I really really hope that the writers didn't decide to go that route. As a Tony/Ziva fan it would really painfull and heartbreaking, of course.

Also, it would be a completely WTF moment. Sure, we've been told both in interviews and on the show (Tony conversation with Ziva at the bar in Two-Faced) that he likes EJ as more than a sexual partner, that he understands her and he can talk to her, but were we actually shown any of that? (Ironically, the writers had Tony tell the he likes talking to EJ, then proceded to show us two honest, mature conversations between Tony/Ziva and none between Tony/EJ...)

As for MW interview, I don't see what he's talking about at all. He probably has a better understanding of the Tony character that I have, but if what he says about EJ and the Tony/EJ relationship is what the writers wanted to convey to the audience, than they failed big time.

I wonder the same thing almost every time I read one of his interviews.

It surprises me how many times the things the writers/actors want to convey are percieved in a completely different way buy the viewrs.

Thank you very much - it's actually one I made myself.

Timmy and Bert - so lovely. I'm glad you like it.
