I suspect that they are bouncing 'new' agents in and out to see who meshes best with Tony, Ziva and McGee (and who the audience likes best) so that they can be ready with a 'new' team for when Mark Harmon steps back and Gibbs officially retires from the field to an administrative position of some kind. They're going to have to consider that or the shows going to really stretch the bounds of credibility because of mandatory retirement ages for government service.

that very well could be what they are doing, but my little NCIS lovin' heart can't even start to comtemplate the show without any of our cast.

one of the things I have been contemplating for awhile:
all the cast have been playing their characters for years - and the actor is pretty much associated with their NCIS role; I wonder if they are looking at that next step career wise? Sure, NCIS is a good gig - steady paycheck & all that - but you would think they would be afraid of typecasting.

yeah, my little brain goes off on tangents every now and again.

That is the first thing I always think of when they want to add new people to a show! TPTB fiddling with any ship I might have on a show.. Then I might start looking at what else they can be used for..
They better not throw anyone else in TIVA's way.. It's been YEARS.. just let us have them already! Please!!

I have only been watching for 2 years now, BUT I did start at the beginning so I have seen everything and have the concept of years in my head!! Just let me have my ship all happy and making out.. It would be lovely!

I need to stop being lazy and upload more icons.. I don't have enough ncis ones moved over here yet. and now that I have a new laptop and all my icons are saved on external drives or the other laptop that makes me even less inclined to go looking for them........

*giggle fit* I kind of do that. It's the research trained mind. ;)

For some of them, I can see the fear of typecasting but I can also see them being comfortable with the steady paycheck (especially MW and SM what with having small kids).

I need some good NCIS icons to go with that nameless story... which I need to get back to work on... McGee and Gibbs tried to hijack it on me!

Oh, for crying out loud!

Why do we need someone else when Ducky, Tim, Abby and Jimmy get so little screen time as it is? Are they going to stick Tim behind his desk even more? Or move him permanently to MTAC!

This is crazy; it really is. What happened to our lovely team-centric show?

it's not that I am oppossed to recurring characters - there are a few that I absolutely love such as Kort and Fornell.

It's the ones that mess with the team dynamic and take camera time away from the core team that bug me.

Kort & Fornell ALWAYS add something to the episodes they appear in - I can't say the same for some of the other recurrings.

ETA: just gonna sit back and wait for the spoilers to come out before I decide if I am happy about this or not. (hee)
