Chemical Engineering.

Do I use it in my career?  Ummmm.  Yes.

I don't watch much comedy TV, because I just don't find them funny most of the time.  Besides, my personality leans more towards drama and procedural shows.

Maybe it just jives with my weird sense of humor but I find myself laughing out loud and wildly entertained while watching The Big Bang Theory. I only watch 2 comedies - TBBT and How I Met Your Mother.  HIMYM is another funny show, but it doesn't entertain me the way BB does.

I don't know what it is about those guys - but I love them in all their quirky, geeky, nerdy glory.  I have to admit in high school and college I would have run far and fast to get away them, but now I find myself feeling all warm and gooey towards them.

Last night's episode with the room mate agreement had me in belly laughs and I needed that in a bad way.  Yeap, who woulda thunk that I had a thing for quirky, geeky, nerdy guys?  Or maybe it's just these particular ones that I have a thing for.  Either way - they are must see TV for me.

Hart Hanson has a new show out called The Finder.  He spun it off from Bones.  I have only seen two episodes (The first episode and last night's episode which was the fourth).

The main character Walter is an expert at finding things and people using unconventional methods.  His side kick is Leo who is a lawyer.  There is also a female US Marshall named Isabel and Leo's juvenile delinquent court appointed charge Willa.  It's set somewhere in FL and their "office" is a Margaritaville style bar.

I am not sure about this show and to be fair I have only seen two eps, but everyone seems to raving about it and I don't know what I am missing.

The main character (Walter) is suppossed to be some sort of quirky (there's that word again) genius.  I mostly find him annoying.  It's like the actor phones in his performance.  I can't figure out if it is bad acting or if he is trying to portray his quirkiness in a stand offish, disconnecting kind of way. Either way - it's not working for me.

The female US Marshall (Isabel) and I had to google her name because I couldn't remember it, which is strange because Isabel is one of my favorite names - just shows how forgetable her character is.  Seriously, if someone did some creative editing and cut her completely out of the episodes, it wouldn't make one iota of a difference.

Leo and Willa are by far the most interesting characters and I think they could make the show - heck, the show (based on what I have seen) would be better if it were just the two of them.

Last night we found out that Walter and Isabel are in an exclusive friends with benefits type relationship. One that has bylaws - one of these is Paragraph C.  Paragraph C states that if either wants to get serious with someone else, they can invoke Paragraph C thus putting a hold on the FWB activities so that they can pursue said serious relationship.

Last night Isabel invoked Paragraph C.  I betcha know what happened without even watching the show.  Yeap, by the end, Isabel & serious guy had broken up - and now Walter & Isabel are going to try a more conventional type of relationship.  Now you would think shipper that I am - that I would happy about that development, but I find I am indifferent.

Maybe it's because I don't really connect with either character.  Isabel is very pretty - but that's it - she's just a pretty face.  She has zero depth and no personality to speak of.  Walter is okay in the looks dept, but he too is just a shallow character.  Now, I have to be fair - we are just getting to know them and who knows what we will learn in the next few episodes.  I have to remind myself that I thought Tony was *squick* instead of *squee* when I first started watching NCIS - and look how far Tony and I have progressed (hee).

I don't know - is it just me?  Jamie, I know you watch - what's your take on the show?  Anyone else watch?  What the heck am I missing?
