Day 3 - Favorite Episode
I only get to choose one?  As that is an impossiblity, I will give you a short list of my favs in no particular order:
Under Covers (what Tiva fan doesn't love this one?)
Boxed In (more Tiva goodness)
Chimera (great story, great team interaction, lots of laughs - Tony and that rat? and "they don't call it the USS Puppy" - I love you Ziva)
Corporal Punishment (not a Damon Werth fan, but Ziva did get to kick some serious butt, so for that reason alone it's a favorite)
Truth or Consequences - ♥♥♥♥♥♥
Ships in the Night - loved the Coast Guard Abby character - if she was a few years older or Gibbs a few years younger - I would so ship them

My favorite episode is actually a season 3 ep called The Voyeur's Web - its a run of the mill murder investigation where two Marines' wives are doing strip shows on the internet for money, one dies, and so one. I just love the ep because it highlighted everything I enjoyed about the show - we had Ziva and Tony working well together (the scene where they're laughing at the nerd in the basement is freaking hysterical & I remain convinced that Cote was trying to be mostly serious but Weatherly's laughter broke her); we see Competent Tony (I love that he solved the case & caught the bad girl with just Ziva along and Gibbs hung up on him because of that fact); we see Chip (back when the showrunners knew what subtle foreshadowing actually was); we see the team being themselves...

Truth and Consequences is probably my number two - I think of this as the last hurrah for the Tony character to me; he was not bad in Reunion, but from that point on, I started to dislike him again - and Agent Afloat is very close to T&C.

To be honest, most of the Ziva-centric episodes aren't favorites of mine even though she was one of my fav characters. For example, I can't stand Recoil even though Cote rocked it with her acting, and the insta!love episode with the radiation guy in season 4 doesn't work for me (then or when they repackaged it in the lame Obsession). I think its because Ziva-centric eps are generally Mossad eps and I hate the less than subtle Israel bashing the show does on a consistent basis, so that's why I don't like her eps...

I remember that one, I enjoyed it too.

Recoil was not one of my favs, they might as well have shot her - they killed her character anyway - what was up with "haunted Ziva"? So OC -

Not much on the Mossad eps myself, and as an Israel supporter, the subtle bashing makes me want to pull my hair out, but I think Michael Nouri nails Eli David (fake Israeli accent aside).

I did actually forget an ep - the only pre-Ziva episode that I consider a "Rigil Favorite" is the one with the old Medal of Honor winner, the name of which I simply can't recall. That episode, probably more than any others, really moves me. The scene, for example, when Faith (man, I miss her) and those two SPs snap to attention when Tony reveals the old guy's MOH ... pure awesomeness.

Truth or Consequences is my absolute number one. I totally love Michael's acting and everything just fits perfect in that episode. Cote was fantastic as usual and the way both Michael and Cote interacted in the scenes together was absolutely brilliant.

Don't really have one number two. Agent Afloat was great, as was The Voyeur's Web, Boxed In and Grace Period.

Recoil was just horrible to watch. Ziva jumping into bed with the next stranger and refusing Tony's help (though I have to admit it was a pretty lame attempt on his side) and all the emotional roller-coaster Ziva was on didn't make much sense to me.
Shalom was ok to watch but it was just a stupid way to bring Gibbs back to Washington. Still don't understand why she didn't turn to the team for help, especially Tony when they spent time outside of work together. Ah well, as I said, just a stupid way to bring Gibbs back but the story was interesting though.

When I watched the much awaited Truth or Consequences I remember thinking it was the best NCIS I had ever seen and I remember saying if they gave me no more TIVA for the rest of the series I got what I needed from Tony on Truth Serum. That holds true to this day. I loved lots of the shows from season 3, but none of them hit me like TOC. And I may be in the minority on this one, but I thought Swan Song was powerful in a similar way. So there you have No.'s 1 and 2 in my book.
PS: Good thing I was satisfied with the Tiva message in TOC, there have barely been whiffs of it ever since. For the sake of morons like me who keep holding on I really wish they would shit or get off the proverbial pot on the Tiva. And there is my rant.
