dragonheart Well, as all of you know (because I have been whining about it for months) - I am in a bit of a writing slump.
I have read that one of the ways to overcome a block is to get away from your normal writing area, get into a new surrounding as the change in locale often facilitates a change in writing patterns or in my case help to jump start the dragon muse.
I am gonna give that a try. I have nothing to lose and I am going to have the time as I don't go back to work until after the new year holiday.
Next week after the Christmas holiday festivities are over, I am going to pack up my writing journal, my lap top, pull Linnie kicking and screaming from his lair and head to my favorite bookstore or maybe Starbucks where I will buy some hot tea or maybe a hot chocolate and just let my mind wander....
I don't expect to write a full blown story, heck at this point I would be thrilled just for an inkling or two - either way at least I will be doing something instead of wringing my hands & feeling sorry for my inner writer self.

Date: 2012-12-21 02:48 am (UTC)I do find that some of my best writing (and much inspiration) seems to come when I'm sitting in Starbucks, as opposed to here in my comfy office with all my DVD's etc. around me. Ironic.
I'm hoping that the New Year will bring fresh motivation to me as well. We can support each other!
