Our office got hit by lightening about an hour ago (that makes a HUGE noise if you have never been close to a strike) and my computer got taken out - I mean totally taken out - dead as a door knob.  Which is bad in and of it's self, but I have a critical mix design due in about 3 hours - my computer is the only one with the required programming--- if I don't come through the ACoE is gonna have a stroke as we are right in the middle of a huge underwater pour.

The IT people are on their way - crossing my fingers they can at least retrieve my program - if not I will be going to Frankfort - the next available program and it's an hour away.  So I am sitting here on my ipad2 checking LJ while the minutes tick away.

Booooo.

dear IT...please fixie the computer! Thanx.

The circuit breaker in our office snapped a few weeks ago from overloaded circuit and caused a cascade outage, they breakers just kept flipping...a couple sparked and melted...we lost a few computers that day. Now we all have little flash drives to back all our important docs on.

What we'll do with these docs and no software I don't know....

Glad to hear it got resolved. That's always scary when you have IT issues and are working to a deadline.

That said, I agree with [livejournal.com profile] rigil_kent - glad no one got hurt. I've been right underneath a lightning storm, and up until that day I always enjoyed them. Now I have a healthy respect for them and make sure I'm sheltered and not using a cordless phone when they hit! Hee!
