Oh, Good Grief - What have I agreed to?

My best friends girl's are MAJOR Harry Potter fans; and as I am not working tomorrow (girl's weekend with aforementioned best friend) we decided to take the girls to the midnight showing of Harry Potter.

Now don't get me wrong - I like Harry Potter and I have read all the books and have seen all the movies.  I was just never one of those who stood in line to do it,  I am more than happy to wait weeks in order to get my Potter fix.

Gosh, I hope it's not  packed - I hate packed theaters - something tells me it is gonna be  packed. I like people for the most part, I just don't like crowds of people - crowds make me nervous - especially crowds in enclosed spaces.

Good grief, what have I done???!!!????

On the plus side, if I live through the madness - I have a nice relaxing girl's weekend ahead of me.  We are staying in a bed and breakfast and then going caving - yeap, you read that right.  Not a cave tour mind you - actual caving - with a guide and everything.

We have done this before and it was a blast - it was like exploring another planet.

I've done it for movies past and loved it. I love the crowds and the costumes and the spirit of it. And yes...I've dressed up a bit...and I may own a wand. (Granted...it came from a tree at my old job but I love it!)

I've also done it for star wars and the lord of the rings and those two were not nearly as fun.


With that said...I'm suddenly questioning why people would be surprised by what we were talking about before...oh right...my coworkers don't know that side of me either.

I'm such a fandom geek at heart.

It's fun! Sure, there are a lot of people... but hey, it's fun.

I previously went to the Lord of the Rings Marathon and last year I went to the Twilight Marathon. Both occasions had the new movie shown around 2 am or 4 am in the morning:D

I even went as far as making my own T-shirt for the Twilight marathon and duplicated it for my 2 friends. We were the talk of the cinema *giggles* Because we were original and everyone else's T-shirt (that they bought for 20 euro's or more!) were butt ugly.

I'll go to Harry Potter in a couple of weeks I think. I'll be taking my brothers.

I've made 2 harry potter shirts ... though, most people at the theater I go to do. One shirt is Ravenclaw and one is for the Weird Sisters.

*L* and I will possibly be the only ones there without Potter wear - maybe I should make a quick trip to Walmart and pick up something...darn, wish I could borrow that Ravenclaw shirt...hee

EDIT: actually, I would want a Snape shirt - I found him oddly fascinating and hot in creepy sort of way.

close spaces don't bother me - it's the people in the close spaces.

I don't like being in a room with large crowds of people - it's the panic factor. I have seen first hand what happens when a crowd of people panic and try to exit an room - it's not pretty.

Even now, wherever I go - I sit as close to the exit as possible. It's not an obsession, but I check where the exits are - and the quickest way to get to them. It's not an experience I wish to repeat.

Personally, you wouldn't get me crawling into a cave if my life depended on it. I'm not claustrophobic per se, but I do have a vivid imagination and I'd be anticipating things collapsing on top of me.

NOT GOOD. But, YMMV.

Sounds awesome, and I never got very far with Harry Potter.
