There's No Place Like Home
Apr. 10th, 2011 03:58 pmJust got back from my mini vacation with the girlfriends. It is always nice to get away from the real world and just have fun - no worries, no job, no husband, no kid, no dog, no housework, nothing but .... FUN!!! And we did have lots of fun - awesome places to eat, shopping, shopping and more shopping.
Chinatown NYC is like my favorite place on earth right now - I brought home some spices and cooking wines/spirits that I can't wait to try out as well as some of the most exquisite teas and the most charming dragons (I have a thing for dragons).
We even got some culture by visiting the Met. Didn't get to see everything I wanted to see there, but that just means I need to make a return trip. The City is so full of life and there is so much to do that if you aren't used to that pace, it can get tiring.
And then - it is always nice to get back to the real world and my real life. Because as much fun as we had: I missed the husband, the kid, the dog and even the job.
I came home and discovered that my husband and son had cleaned the house, done the laundry, mowed the grass, and weeded and tilled for my spring gardens. I was very surprised at the garden work until they told me that our 8 month old Vizsla puppy, Copper, had dug about 8 holes in my gardens, so they decided to fix those and then one thing led to another - awwww, I love my "boys".
The weather has been beautiful here in my part of the world- it's about 75F (24C), sunny with a slight breeze, so I am sitting out on my deck enjoying a diet coke, catching up with fandoms and getting slightly sunburned.
