Date: 2011-12-01 03:27 pm (UTC)Team Lab has no team mod, and hardly anyone on our team is doing anything (I can't really say too much though since I've missed some challenges myself...). We're so far behind at this point no-one is even bothering. Even though the challenges are fun, when you aren't even in the running it takes some of the excitement out of it, y'know?
Also, I don't know whether I'm just missing them, but it seems like we're no longer getting reminders about upcoming deadlines for challenges, so by the time I remember to check, I find I've missed the deadline, which is incredibly frustrating. But when you've got no hope of winning, you almost get to the point where you say, what does it matter anyway?
I'm so sorry, I'm raining on your parade. I do wish you guys luck with this new comm. I think I'm just going to focus on writing come the new year, and leave the games to others who are in a better position to be successful with them. Have fun!

Date: 2011-12-01 03:48 pm (UTC)I thought (very briefly) about stepping up as team mod, but since I can't even remember the challenges myself, and can't commit time-wise to doing the BIGGIE mega-points challenge, I knew I'd make a terrible mod and end up getting dissed on that comm you told me about where people go to complain about their mods. How awful, and talk about a way to discourage people from volunteering!
I know there are one or two people who simply couldn't participate in this round, and will be coming back to Team Lab next time. I don't want to be seen as "abandoning ship" by switching to another team; that's not fair to the rest of the team. I'll hold off making a final decision on whether to come back until the new year, I guess. But I also feel like I've let down the team because I've missed some points needlessly simply because of being disorganized (like forgetting to vote on the poster fics!!)

So question.. there is a comm that people complain about their mods??? I never even heard of that!! That is just a terrible idea for a comm.. I never want to find it because I am afraid people would be saying stuff about me!! I will just stay oblivious to that comm!

Date: 2011-12-02 05:46 am (UTC)Everyone keeps telling me I need to watch TBBT - being the Star Trek geek that I am - but I have no idea even when it's on. Ever since they got rid of TV Guide up here, my TV-watching is very hit & miss other than NCIS. I just turn it on and flip channels until I find something I like.
You can't really plan your viewing without a guide of some sort to look at. I used to plan it out for the week, so I wouldn't miss any of my shows, or at least so I could tape them. I'd like to strangle the idiot who decided people don't look at the TV listings in the paper anymore. The only way we have to find out ahead of time what's on, is to go online to each individual TV station's website. Stupid!

I have the shows that I watch regularly (a grand total of 4) NCIS, TBBT, Homeland, Game of Thrones - the rest is just hit or miss (although I really want to start watching HIMYM more) How I Met Your Mother - stars Neil Patrick Harris, who I love, love, love.
