As creator and exec producer of ABC’s Castle, Andrew W. Marlowe has spent a whole lot of the last three years keeping his title character and Beckett apart, and wondering how long that can go on. One thing he does know: He’d be getting pretty anxious right about now if he were Bones‘ Hart Hanson and the couple in question was Booth and Brennan.
“Bones is heading into its seventh year,” Marlowe observes to TVLine, “and there comes a point where you put up or shut up. Otherwise, the characters become brother and sister. You can’t extend that tension that long without your fans breaking. And I know that people still watch the show and it’s still popular… I just think it [starts to] morph into something else.”

I'm optimistic for some sort of T/Z thing to happen eventually. But optimism is my downfall with NCIS.

Date: 2011-04-20 11:33 am (UTC)You know I am a huge T/Z shipper, but even I am not sure if I want them to actually get together anytime soon - I like the "dance" and I fear that may better than the "reality" because then it starts with the whole "what next?" dilemna - keep them together?, break them up? - can do without that angst. I don't think the writers could let them live happily everafter.
I just don't like when they bring in jealousy arcs and trouble for Tiva with other love interests. I am a bad fangirl - I don't really want them "together" just yet (but eventually - oh yes I do - as the series nears it's finale) but I don't want them with anyone else either - can't they just be celibate and dedicated to each other?
Yeah, like I said "bad" fangirl here.

Date: 2011-04-21 03:05 am (UTC)I agree ... I wouldn't want it to turn in GA in the Navy with angst T/Z.
I tried to like the 'jealousy arc' characters on the show and not hate them because they were their to cause problem's. I tend to prefer the ones they bring in for Ziva. I absolutely hate EJ and can't tolerate Jeanne beyond the Valentines day episode of S4. But yes I'd much prefer them single and friendly than all jealous.
I'd like a season of them as really good friends, with movie nights and other fun friendly dates hinted at as LittleSammy said T&Z need to have some serious fun together to realize how right they are for one another, and perhaps both of them declining dates to hang out (even if they say the date cancelled) so us shippers can imagine something more or they're very close to being something more and the anti's can believe they're just friends. And the slashers well they can find something.
I'm with you with this 'bad fangirl' thing.
