I am one of those people who get up at the crack of dawn (5:30 a.m.) so I can be in the office by 7:00 a.m.

This morning, I must have slept through my alarm, which I have NEVER done before, but, I open my eyes, look at the clock and see it's 6:15.  Normally, this would not be a huge deal - because even though I like getting to the office at 7:00 - I don't HAVE to be there that early - except today, as I had a phone conference with an army corp engineer for our dam project and I have been playing phone tag with this man for days, and I knew if I missed his call it could be next week before we connected again.

So anyway, took the quickest shower of my life, dashed out the door with one of those microwaved breakfast sandwiches and boogied to the office.  When I got there I noticed the sandwich had dripped grease on my newly dry cleaned blouse - thankfully, I have a sweater that will cover it, but as I was trying my best to clean the grease spot, I happen to look down and see that I am wearing two different shoes - yeap - one black flat (which I wanted) and one brown flat - and to top it off - the engineer is sick today and won't be back in the ofice until Monday!

So, now I am debating - drive 30 minutes home and 30 minutes back to the office just so I can change my shoes and blouse or just go with the flow..... with gas prices where they are - I am thinking I will just grin and bear it.

Now, everytime I need a giggle today - all I will have to do is look down at my feet.

Oh, darlin' - days like these, huh?!

My daughter stepped on a nail last night, punctured the fleshy part of her foot right behind her toes. We cleaned it up and sent her to bed, but this morning it's puffy looking and she can't walk. So I'll be spending half the day in the doctor's office.

To top it all off, I was supposed to take my MIL to a dr appt today as well. And get my son to preschool for half a day and then picked up. Is cloning a real thing yet?

*hugs*

Oh, dear - not a great start to the day.

I'm glad you can laugh at it though, you have to really, don't you?

I once went to work with one black and one navy shoe on.

Don't sweat it. My Dad once went to my second cousin's baptism in his slippers. Yep, you read that right.

At least you have two shoes on! *g*

And you're right, with gas prices the way they are, going home and coming back again would just be insane. Stay at your desk and look really busy...no one will know! Hee!

Yeah. That wasn't the only time he left the house in his slippers either. (Ok, I'll admit, he was probably in his 60's when that happened, and they did look an awful lot like shoes...:)

Poor Dad, indeed. He's probably rolling in his grave knowing I'm telling such tales! Hee!
