dragonheart: (Gibbs things fall apart)
[personal profile] dragonheart
Went home to Winchester to spend some time with the family over the Easter holiday.  My three nieces are all NCIS fans, but my youngest niece who is 11 is an extreme FANGIRL - and those caps are necessary to describe how much of a fan she is.  If she was old enough and knew about it - she would be burning up LJ with her opinions and her theories.  And she actually has some good ones, such as....

I was filling her in on the latest spoilers (yes, I am wicked that way) and we started specualting about how the season finale was going to rock Gibb's world both personally and professionaly -  and we started debating who would be killed and why and then she looks at me all slant eyed and said to the effect - maybe it's not a death that rocks his world - maybe its the identity of the killer -

Now, we do know for a fact that at least 2 people are going to die according to MW interview - but maybe those deaths won't have an emotional impact for Gibbs - especially if it is EJ or one of her team - professional impact yes - no one wants to loose agents even if you don't like them or know them well. I know alot of bets are on hinging on Mike Franks being one of the deaths and I haven't totally discounted that, but my niece has raised an interesting point:

We don't yet know alot about the P2P killer - just that he kills men, navy or marine - in various ports around the world, first one that we know of was in Rota, now with the arrival of EJ's team he has struck in DC (another interesting point - how did Vance know he would strike in DC?  EJ was here in advance of the discovery of the body) so maybe the killer is somehow tied to NCIS (former agent? - former Gibbs partner?).  EJ and Vance seem to know something that they haven't shared. And that eyeball opening MTAC and the fact that EJ knew it was possible?  Hinky.

Playing devil's advocate - Tony's former partner as a victim throws a wrench in the whole victimology - as far we know he isn't tied to NCIS / navy / marines in anyway except for his former relationship to Tony - not sure how that figures in yet -but Baltimore is a port city. But according to spoilers he is a killed by P2P, so there is more to the story, hopefully next week will shed some light on that.

I think it is rather interesting that all the spoilers have been victim related and not killer related - maybe TPTB want us focusing our attentions in one direction while they plan the *pow* from another?

So what do you think fellow NCIS fans - is Gibbs world rocked by death? by identity? Or maybe both?

on another note:  will it ever stop raining?  The storm last week caused some roof damage on my house, now I have a leak and my head is about to explode from the sinus pressure - praying for sunshine or atleast the cessation of the rain!

Yeah DiNozzo's ex-partner might be another victim, but I highly doubt he has a high enough clearance for entering MTAC.

Possible candidates:

Mike Franks
Fornell
That chick of the coast guard played by Diane Neal.

and anyone on EJ's team.

I believe TPTB are throwing us a red herring by saying that Cote dePablo hasn't signed a new contract yet.

Your niece is a clever little thing, isn't she?

My theory of the thing that 'rocks Gibbs' world' is that Tony is going to announce he's leaving - either moving over to head up EJ's team after she dies, or just leaving NCIS altogether. (Of course he'll be back next season, as [livejournal.com profile] rigil_kent has pointed out, they always hit the rewind button at the start of the next season).

I've given up trying to speculate on the P2P plot arc, I'm just going to wait and see what they come up with.

Have you seen the spoiler pics for "Baltimore"? OMG YUMMY TONY in the SHOULDER HOLSTER and with the SIDEBURNS and the JEANS with the little bulge in the strategic place...oh my!!! *drools*

You're niece is a bright little thing. Can she come and replace my sisters we'd have a blast.

I like how she thinks. If the P2P kills the Tony's partner because it might turn out they think it's him and it's not, which could mean a copy-cat. Anyway, if they think it's him. It means the killer is devolving and according to 'Criminal Minds' that is caused by stress or a personal relationship. Stress from the investigation I assume. Or as your niece said stress from who is involved in the investigation.

Apparently, Gibbs is seen teary-eyed in Swan Song so whoever dies won't be EJ as the Gibbs would all but dance on her grave.

I agree with toomuchfandom: I doubt CdP hasn't resigned she seemed really secure in that trailer BTS. She probably has signed something else which means she can't reveal that's she signed again.

*Glares at LJ as it hid this from me*

Ah, GMTA - your niece and me and also you and I for making this kind of post. I did one on Sunday (http://nakeisha.livejournal.com/1047729.html) my thoughts on EJ and the season finale.

In it I too speculated about maybe Gibbs knowing the killer - that would indeed shock him.

With the amount of spoilers being released, I fear the thing will, like other season finales, just fizzle out as I think our speculations will be far more interesting and deep than the actuality.

I'm reading and commenting on this after watching Swan Song. I'm so very, very annoyed with the death of Mike Franks. Completely gratuitous. Yes, I'm sure it's going to move Gibbs to go "outside the law" in some way to bring P2P to justice, but come on. Franks is a lot of lot smarter than that and he's such a great character to have on hand as a sounding board for Gibbs. The whole thing just pissed me off.

Also, making Trent Korte the missing eye guy. I loves me some bad-ass mofo Trent, and I'm pretty sure he can still kick Tony's sorry ass, one-eye or not.

As for the cliff-hanger...I'm not fairly certain they're NOT going to kill EJ, or if they are, it'll be a Kate death redux when the murder doesn't happen when you think it will.

I hope the Tony/Whoever shippers aren't out there rooting for her demise, cause that's just gross.

I actually wrote some Trent Kort fic for the first "Walks Into A Bar" ficathon. I really some of the "minor" characters who've come through the NCIS verse over the years.
