Yes, I know it's an AU episode and anything that happens isn't real/canon - it is a "what could have been" and doesn't affect canon in any way except whatever Gibbs takes away from the experience.
And that was the reason I was really excited about it - excited about all the different opportunities to see our team in alternative situations. How would they be different if their circumstances were different?
But, I find this one aspect is really bothering me....
According to CdP - the interrogation scene between Tony & Ziva is supposed to reveal that the "spark" between Tony and Ziva is still there even if they had met under different circumstances. According to GG - Gibbs is going to realize that even though bad things happened - it has all worked out for the good - that things the way they are now are the way they should be.
Other spoilers reveal that Tony is married and possibly has a baby (although there are some who speculate otherwise, I personally think the baby he is seen holding in the hospital nursery IS his).
I think that a married man especially one with a baby (or older child - depending on the time line as that isn't clear from the previews) shouldn't be having ""sparks" with another woman.
As a married woman this idea is *squick* and I find myself being ticked off at Tony without even having watched the episode. If he is married I don't want him having sparks with Ziva. Period.
And unless something "bad" (which I don't want to see) happens to his family - how is what he has now "better" than being married with children?
And even if something "bad" did happen - would erasing them from his life make his life better? I think Gibbs can answer that question - it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.
I know it's all wild speculation based on cleverly worded interviews and masterfully cut previews and that we may get something else entirely when the episode airs, but my gut is telling me I am not going to be happy about this, and maybe - just maybe - that's the way I am supposed to feel - and I don't like that either.

Date: 2012-02-06 07:17 pm (UTC)OR .... maybe Gibbs sees that Tony is on marriage #4 and is unhappy in it (because Gibbs wasn't there for him to learn from) and the sparks between T/Z are there because everything else he's tried is wrong? Like Gibbs sees it as Ziva is his Jenny in some way?

I'm trying not to get to anxious, because it's an AU episode, and nothing will transpire into any other episodes.

Date: 2012-02-06 07:30 pm (UTC)From my perspective, I think the "everyone is happier in the alternate world" is the most interesting because the "It's a Wonderful Life" scenario (everything is worse) and the "Everything is superficially different but fundamentally the same" scenario have both been done to death (and the second is boring to begin with).
I really, really wish I hadn't watched any of those spoiler videos. Since the scenarios are predictable, the details are the only surprises, so I wish I didn't know any of them.
Ugh this episode is so frustrating. Is it game time yet?
