Shocking, I know.
Feb. 8th, 2012 04:18 pmYou guys know how much I love NCIS - particularly Michael, Cote and Tiva.
But, even I am getting weary of the constant barrage of media interviews, articles, spoilers, etc. I know they are just coming off promoting the big 200th episode but...
Haven't they ever heard of media saturation?
I think they are there - at least for me.
I am taking a couple of days off concerning all things NCIS - so I can regain some NCIS anticipation and get excited about next week's episode (which looks to be a fun one) - and yes, I am very eager to meet Wendy and no, the preview didn't bother me in the slightest.

Date: 2012-02-09 12:43 pm (UTC)I am looking forward to Tuesday even though I know I am going to leave it with a broken heart.
I do think Tony will try to give it another whirl with Wendy - I think that kiss will take place when he goes to her home to tell her that and that's where he meets her son. I have a feeling that's going to be the ending scene - and we will be stuck with that image for a full week. Kind of like that end scene in OLS.
I think he needs to reconnect with her,so that he knows that he knows that he gave it his all, and to move on. It might spur Ziva on too. MW says she feels "threatened by Wendy's return" and that by the end of the season, both have a better idea of what they want.
Am I as confident that I was that Tiva is going to happen? No. Do I think they will keep jerking us around about it? Yes.
At this point anything can happen, but it's hard to get excited about a ship when the actor playing the male role so blatantly doesn't want it to happen. I understand his reasoning - I really do, but I wish he would just shut up about it. Seriously meh!
Re: Here be spoilers and speculations - enter with caution
Date: 2012-02-09 02:58 pm (UTC)But, seriously, dear Lord...I just read the interview. What crap. I'm not necessarily worried, although, I am seriously starting to get sick of the song & dance. Here's why:
First of all, look at all the spoilers, hype, and PR they did for 200. What did we get out of all that? Not very much. Either it all ended up on the cutting room floor, or it was crafted to be purposefully misleading. I wasn't obsessed with NCIS around 7.1, but from what I've read in hindsight, it was the same BS. The fandom was lead to believe it would be huge Tiva, and this & that, but what they weren't told was that it wouldn't necessarily be the good kind. And already with Wendy, I've seen differing "points of view." CdP says that Ziva is very interested in Wendy. MW says Ziva views her as a threat. Who to believe? Neither. Because they're not allowed to actually say. Even as far as their personal "opinions" go, they're not allowed to tell us what they really think of it; that's just bad business (you don't bite the hand that feeds you kind of thing). They can only puppet out what the show runner tells them to say. But after the horrid Tate (even if it was AU) that I just had the displeasure of viewing, I don't trust this show to do anything decent by the characters, anymore. Not only did that scene come off as warped, but I have to wonder if the writers/show runners have been doing their homework and watching the same show that we've been watching for the last 7 years. I mean, do they know these characters at all? Seems to me like each episode is just flying by the seat of it's pants with no interest in continuity or cannon. I'm seriously getting sick of it. I made it with a whole month of no NCIS and my world didn't implode. And after (finally) a new ep, I walk away feeling apathetic and underwhelmed? Yeah. I can't even read fanfiction anymore, I'm so disgusted with it. Seriously, by the end of this season, I'm predicting to be done. That makes me sad. :(
Re: Here be spoilers and speculations - enter with caution
Date: 2012-02-09 03:49 pm (UTC)If I hadn't read MW's words I would still be sitting fat & happy. I shouldn't let his words carry too much weight - they are his opinion & until he starts writing for the show - his opinions are no more valid than mine.
I am just going to sit back and see how it plays out - I will be back to aqueeing or ranting after Tuesday - because I am looking forward to meeting Wendy (just not to seeing them hook up again if that is the route they go.)
Hang in there with me! I need someone rational to bounce my thoughts off of.
