I really (really) liked this episode.

I will get around to posting my formal review later - I have a really busy day and  I want to sit down and watch the episode again at it's normal Tuesday broadcast time (yes, I cheated and watched last night because I was afraid that we wouldn't be home in time to watch the full episode tonight. My worries were for naught, so I will get the opportunity to rewatch and maybe catch some of those oh so subtle "things" that make NCIS must see TV for me.

I do have one thought I would like to share.  It's not spoilery, but it's opinion based - so under a cut it goes.

I am kinda nervous about how hard TPTB are pushing the T/Z angle lately.  It is mentioned in all the interviews and even though MW is saying he doesn't think Tiva as a couple would be good for the show - it is still getting Tiva out there and talked about.  Now, part of me just loves, loves, loves this and I think we are finally gonna go "there" with Tiva - maybe not this season - but soon.

The other part of me is nervous that they playing up the Tiva so that T/Z will finally have to confront their feelings for each other and could decide that even though they have strong feelings for each other they know it would never work for them - by the end of the season they will both have a better idea of what they want (GG's words) - and it's not a realtionship with each other (my thought).

I have a feeling the season finale will end on a big "will they or won't they" scene and we will be left all summer to mull over their decision and come back in the fall to find they decided not to go there afterall.

But honestly, I haven't been right even once on my speculations, so by the numbers this one isn't right either, but it makes me feel better to get it out there and out of my head.

Oddly ... I've come to the conclusion that I don't want to see Tiva on the show.

*ducks*

Well ... maybe on the very last episode ... like episode 400 or something ...

Yeah, I don't want a T/Z subplot on the show either.

It can wait until the last few episodes ever.

TBH, Tony seems way more into the idea at the moment than Ziva does.

Yeah....I didn't like it. At all. I don't like Wendy even more than EJ. At least EJ acted like a grown woman. Wendy reminded me of a Jr. High cheerleader with the cheeky smiles and the body swaying as she talked. It annoyed me to no end that I had to stop watching.

Again, haven't watched the ep and don't have plans to do so, but still felt like commenting. Hope you don't mind.

Wouldn't surprise me. That would let them punt and avoid putting the two together until the final episode, exactly like they did with Mac and Harm in JAG. From the standpoint of a showrunner, I can see how that would be the best of both worlds: the two have acknowledged that they have feelings for one another (appease the shippers), but then decide that it "won't work" (which ostensibly appeases the non-shippers or the people who ship other characters with one or both of the two.) Then, they can continue the rotating door of doomed relationships for the two and still have a fallback ship to tease when they feel like it.

And of course, it leaves it open for the final ep where they suddenly and inexplicably realize that a relationship is what they want ... even though Tony is like 50 at that point.

They're not going to actually put them together but they're clearly setting up something. I do think there's going to be some kind of "tell her" scene, but for one reason or another, it won't result in them getting together now.
I personally don't think Ziva's ready (I also think she needs some fun playing the field time) but I doubt they'll write it that way.

My one comment is that from the minute I saw Ray Wise's name in the credits I KNEW he would be the baddie. I guessed he would be a sleazy lawyer, but but sleazy slum-lord is close enough. Mr. Wise is an awesome actor, but he's so good at exuding sleaze that every single procedural uses him in that role and it's kind of killing the suspense.
