Is your journal Friends Only? If not, you might want to make it that way. Before I made mine friends only, I got a lot of Russian journals friending me. Now I don't have any trouble. I have to approve anyone who wants to friend me.
I'm suspicious that these mystery Russian journals are part of the Direct Denial of Service attacks that happen from time to time and that they are trying to use other people's journals as part of the attack. That's why they friend you or comment on your journal - to use it. I may be wrong, but that's what I suspect.
