1. Leave a comment to this post - specifically saying that you would like a letter.
2. I will give you a letter.
3. Post the names of five fictional characters whose names begin with that letter, and your thoughts on each. The characters can be from books, movies, or TV shows.
nakeisha gave me the letter "A."
Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo – My very close 2nd favorite character (right behind Ziva David) on NCIS and the male half of my OTP. I am now head over heels in love with Tony (and Michael Weatherly). I actually have done an about face with my feelings on this character – when I first started watching NCIS – I didn’t like Tony at all, I thought he was an immature frat boy who would never be more than a good investigator and comic relief for the MCRT. I am so pleased with the character development we have seen with Tony over the past several years. He has grown up (quite handsomely), but has managed to retain his “fun” personality. Yes, I still want to wring his neck every now and again, but it is only because I love him so much and want what’s best for him and sometimes he seems to be self-defeating (but aren’t we all?). At this point, I can’t ever imagine falling out of love with this character – he is my TV crush and the one man my husband allows me to lust over.
Abby Sciuto – Another favorite NCIS character. I like our quirky goth forensic scientist, and am always excited to see her scenes, I wish there were more of them. Abby has a good relationship with the other characters and she is one of the most popular characters on the show. I know of only a handful of people who actively dislike her. The only complaint I have about Abby is that she seems to be stuck in a quasi woman/child rut. I would like to see a little growth and maturing of her character – and as great as Pauley Perrette looks at 42 – I am not sure how much longer she can pull off that woman/child vibe.
Arya Stark – The youngest daughter of Eddard Stark from the A Song of Fire of Ice series which has been made into a HBO TV series (Game of Thrones). Arya doesn’t want to be a Lady and marry a man to further the good of Winterfell Kingdom (very much unlike her older sister Sansa who wants exactly those things). We would call her a tomboy today as she loves swords, archery, etc. She is a spunky young girl who wants to be in charge of own destiny and with the death of her father and going into hiding for her life – she gets that what she has always wished for (be careful of that). She sees and experiences things that no young girl (or boy) should be exposed to and faces those obstacles with more fortitude than someone three times her age. Very excited to see how she fairs in Season 2 of Game of Thrones.
Amy Farrah Fowler – The girlfriend of Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory. I love the episodes with Amy – she and Sheldon are so great together – not in a traditional way. There is nothing traditional about these characters or their relationship. If you haven’t seen the show – there aren’t words to describe to them, but this is the only show on TV that causes me to consistently laugh out loud and every time Amy is on screen I am chuckling (she is just that good).
Andy Griffith – okay showing my age a bit with this one. My dad was/is a huge Andy Griffith fan and we were always watching The Andy Griffith Show when I was growing up. It is part of my warmest childhood memories. Andy was the world’s best dad to son Opie (played by a very young Ron Howard). He was loving, fair, fun and the Town Sherriff so everyone respected him (and rightly so – he was a respectful man). I know Mayberry was an idealized town, but as a child I wanted to live there (and I still do).

Date: 2012-02-28 08:15 pm (UTC)I agree with you about Abby. I've actually been contemplating writing a fic involving Abby waking up and realizing she can no longer pull off the "goth" look and she has to grow up a bit. The team are taken aback at first by the change in her, and it would explore the thought process she goes through and the gradual acceptance of the team with the "new" Abby.
Do you think anyone would read it? Would I get flamed? (not that I care about either of those things really, just curious).

Date: 2012-02-28 08:46 pm (UTC)I don't think you will get flamed, most people acknowledge that the little girl thing is way past its prime and bordering on creepy at some points.
I hope you write it.
