I hated this episode with a passion. As much as I love Ziva, she and Abby pissed me off the most, aside from the reuse of 'keep secrets from Tony' ploy they did back in Season 2 with Abby and Kate going for a spa weekend. This is one episode I highly doubt I'll rewatch - ever.
I'm such a bad Tiva fan (though to be fair, I've become more of a Ziva fan and less Tony within the last year)... I would be happy to see more Stan/Ziva. They had more chemistry in their tiny little scene than all the Ziva/Ray scenes.
I actually thought that last scene off the elevator (with the scarf) was purposefully filmed like Ziva stuck between Tony and Stan. Neither guy looked pleased, like a turf war, and she was amused. I seem to be the only one who got that interpretation though.
I totally agree with you on that last scene - those were my thoughts exactly.
I really don't want Stan interferring with my ship - mainly because I feel like we should be past these "other potential love interest" stories by now - either they have feelings for each other and should act on them - or they don't and we should move on down the road.
yeah, kinda hard to believe that I just said that (hee)
I would be devastated. I think if Tony weren't in the picture, then Stan would be a good match for Ziva. But, Tony is in the picture (yay! Tiva)and I don't want to see them with anyone else.
I liked the subtle sparks we saw between Ziva/Stan, but I wouldn't want it to go any further, I would be ticked if they threw Stan in the mix because I am tired of the other love interest obstacles that keep coming our way.
That is the cheater way to create relationship angst and shows poor writing ability when you keep repeating the same scenerios over and over and over again.
Do I think T/Z is in for a smooth ride? Heck, no! But there are other ways to create the angst and tension in a relationship than to throw in a third party.
Tiva has lots of layers yet to explore - I hope the writers go "there" and not resort to more of the same ole, same ole.
Well..its your icon, so you better like it! Lolol...
I'm saying this, not like a T/Z fanatic or something, but I would really like to seem them together somewhere along the way, because the way they have written the characters indicate T/Z like each other. They didn't do the same with Abby and Tim, so..why escalate this relationshhip if it's not suppose to mean anything?
Do you think they brought Stan Burley back just to kill him off in the finale? They are running out of potential victims from the past without touching the main characters.
He's not listed as appearing in the final two episodes, so maybe he is safe back where ever it is that he lives recovering from that stab wound.
If I were Breena, Dr. Ryan or even Dorney - I would be feeling a little nervous right now - not sure if they will actually kill them off, but I can see some serious maiming in their futures.
Anyone of those would be okay with me, I would be willing sacrifice them to keep our team "safe". I do however think that possibly McGee will be injured and his fate will be left as a cliffhanger...
Did you read the insider's blog from the writers? Sure enough they went straight for the sparks between David and Burley and left it with a "we shall see if anything happens there". Soon I am going to get really fed up with that scenario. After so many other love interests when they both have availability and an apparent interest in one another and then one goes off on a wild hair and hooks up with a random other-if they ever do get them together it will look a little ridiculous.
I am hoping they are doing that just to shake up the shippers, they did the same thing with Wendy and we know how that turned out...
I am not going to worry about it too much (until they actually do or say something to make me think Stan is in the picture).
I really hope they don't go that route - it's shoddy story telling in the very least and cruel to the shippers (they know about us) I think they would risk losing some vieweres if they went backwards now, at least with another love interest.
I don't for a second think that T/Z are in for a smooth ride - I think there is still some relationship angst in their future, but I am hoping it is the type of stuff that couples normally face and work their way thru.
I read the Insider's Blog and thought the exactly same thing. Why repeat the same storyline over and over? If they're not suppose to be a couple (right now) let them enjoy each other's company 'till something evolves, but not putting someone else between them every freakin' time...:P
Why? Because that's evidently the only play they have in that playbook. From season4, when they began to actually play with the notion of T/Z, that's been the standard play. It's one of the reasons I gave up on the ship. :(
Given that the Tony character and how they wrote him from season 6 to season 8 is one of the principal reasons I walked away from the show, I long ago reached the point where I thought Ziva can do better than DiNozzo. It's long since passed the moment where T/Z should have made a move and has now turned into patent silliness IMO.
So I say go for Stan/Ziva. Or Tim/Ziva. Or Malachi/Ziva. Or Anyone But Tony/Ziva. But then, I don't like Tony anymore so...
I guess he could have grown a little more by now...lol, they continue to make him somewhat silly, but I guess that's never going to change. MW is exactly like that on real life ^_^
To me (and yeah, I know I have a minority opinion on this), Tony's character devolved, beginning in season 6. Prior to that, he could be silly from time to time, but it wasn't as over-the-top and caricaturish as it became once Weatherly essentially became the real face of the show (don't care what they say about Gibbs being central.)
So imagine my surprise and disgust when I realized in s8 that one of my favorite characters from pre-season 6 had become my least favorite character on the show (including Vance.)
*shrug* But I'm obviously in the minority, what with the crazy ratings (which I stop understanding in season 7.)
I still maintain that Ziva can do better than DiNozzo. But again, I'm biased.
