Day Five - Favorite Male Character

I think I may surprise a few of you with this one.  Although I love Tony and he is the male 1/2 of my ship - he is not my favorite male character.  As much as I love him, he frustrates the heck out of me - sometimes I even want to hurl something at his head.  When he is being competent, loveable and leader Tony, he reminds me alot of my favorite male character which is - Ducky.

Whenever Ducky is on screen, I sit up and take notice - he fascinates me.  He has lived a storied and full life (which I would like to know more about by the way) and he has genuine caring friendships with everyone on the team.  He makes everyone feel important and valued and he is the kindest, gentlest soul on the show - but not in a sappy way - he has a backbone, which he has shown on more than one occasion and he is the one person who isn't intimidated by Gibbs. 

Oh, and that accent - that doesn't hurt either....

Love, love, love Ducky!

You're right, you did surprise me! Hmmm...maybe I was too predictable in choosing Tony?

Its a tie between Ducky and Jimmy Palmer for me. Tony used to be my favorite character, but from season 6 onward, I started to greatly dislike him due to both the writing and how Weatherly wanted to play him. I lost interest in Gibbs also during s6, but actively began to dislike him from "Mother's Day" on - nothing in the Mexican plot changed my mind in that regard. Tim is just mostly a non-factor anymore and, again, from season 6 on, I started to dislike the writing for him - I cant stand the smug arrogance he's give quite often.

So of the team's guys, its either Ducky - who freaking rules - or Jimmy - who also rules.

I wonder who we need to call/email/write/threaten to get more screen time for Ducky and Jimmy?

Maybe we need another serial killer arc (a good one this time)- lots of bodies, means lots of morgue time which means lots of Ducky and Jimmy.

No, not another serial killer arc, especially with Glasberg running things. How about a rash of bombings on Navy ships?

Although honestly, I'm actually afraid that if they did have more of these two, they'd screw them up like they have the other characters.

We really do need more Ducky screen-time, he's really undervalued and under-used.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Ducky is my very favorite character on the show, male or otherwise. I love how deeply respectful he is of the dead. I love how much he cares about his teammates. I love that he makes me laugh in unexpected ways. And I love your icon of him! What I wouldn't give to have Ducky for my grandfather.
