I really must get a Kindle or something - those books are so darned expensive, I just can't bring myself to buy them. But I REALLY want to read them now, after hearing all of you talk about it so much.
The TV show is only available on HBO here in Canada and of course I don't get it. *pouts*
You might try the library, they should have them. I have books 2 & 3 in paperback that I could send you. Book 1 is on my Sony ereader, while book 4 is on my ipad2.
For me, it's as much about the hotel spa and the discussion panels as it is about the guests (no-one I'm really excited to see this year, except possibly Armin Shimerman). But it's a weekend getaway and a chance to dress up as Abby Sciuto, so what the heck!
Hmmm...I can try. We don't usually get all that close to the front when the guests are on-stage (probably because we try to cram too much other stuff in so we get to the main room at the last minute!)
I'll have my BB with me, will take some pics with that as the weekend progresses and I'll post on Twitter for ya. I'll bring my camera too, because it has zoom, and I'll see what I can do.
Thanks! Those lace-ups were a real find. I was actually hunting for a pair of cheap platform boots, and striking out, when those caught my eye and I just HAD to have them. I've actually worn them once since then, not in costume!
The wig was a challenge - I tried braiding it before I put it on my head, and it just didn't sit right, so I had to undo it all and re-do the braids while wearing the wig (haven't braided my "own" hair since high school...you can imagine...). The hair was much longer than that, I chopped it off at an appropriate level.
I drew on the spider web tattoo using a black liquid eyeliner. Very tricky! Got the lab coat from the local university - they sell them to their chemistry students.
It was fun pulling it all together, and it was neat having a costume that almost everyone recognized, for a change.
