That was a really good finale and apart from the fact that Dany is really hot naked, seeing those dragons was shiver-inducing. I really can't wait to see them bigger and hope their presence isn't as minimized as the dire wolves were throughout this season.
This episode also served as the first time I liked Sansa in any fashion. The way she told Joffrey "maybe he'll bring me your head" was fricking awesome, as was how she sort of shut down when he ordered her to stare at the heads.
Also really loved the trio coming after Jon - the scene where they surrounded him and recited the Oath was very good.
I know - Spring seems like an eternity away - and having read the books and knowing what happens next - I am not sure if that makes it better or worse - lol
I was looking forward to the dragons and was hoping that we would get a really good look at them - and we did of the red one -that little wing stretch and hiss/growl - gave me goose bumps. I have a thing for dragons anyway - so it was squee inducing.
All in all, I think the series followed the first book rather well - they did tweak the ages of Bran and Rickon - but I can live with that, I would have liked to have seen more of wolves and I think they are doing a good job of balancing the time between the 3 story arcs - the battle for the Iron Throne, the threat from the Others and the rise of Dany. I think it helps that George RR Martin is so heavily involved.
Really looking forward to S2 as book 2 is my favorite...
