Frekin' Frackin' Frekedy Frack!!! (yes, those are my swear words)

 I have spent the last 4 1/2 hours trying to remove a virus from my laptop - something called vista home security 2012 -  a fraudulent malware virus.

What the heck good has McAfee done for me today?  Nothing! Nada! Zippo!  It didn't keep the virus out and it can't even detect it on scan.

It has my whole computer locked up!! @@$$$???

right now I am bypassing the start up menu and booting from a stick that I downloaded system sweeper on - the recommended fix -

anyone have any experience with this monster?

working from my husband's computer - 

I swear my next computer is going to be a Mac - my son loves his, and I love my ipad2 - 

I am hating PC right now!

See if you can download malwarebytes' anti-malware and run it.

thanks, I will try that after system sweeper finishes scanning - I am only about 1/2 way thru the scan and it has been scanning for 45 minutes....

don't people have better things to do with their time than develop malicious software?

Sadly no ... :(
I hate mcafee and norton with a passion because they never protect against the things that hit my laptop. There's also some sites online that show you how to manually remove that ... but that's always a last ditch effort.

McAfee and Norton suck because they slow the PC down so fast... I actually don't use a virus scanner because I never have virusses... anyway, ditch McAfee and download AVG Free or something.

Also, you might have a better chance of getting rid of your virus by scanning your computer while it's in safe mode and not connected to the internet.
