WTF NCIS???? I mean really?????

Why is that every time I am floating around in my nice little tiva bubble –loving life, loving my show and loving my ship, someone has to come along and prick it? I mean really….

 

Just last night I swore off spoilers and previews and I renewed that vow this morning, but this little bit of un-official spoilery was force fed to me in an email from a friend.  I wasn’t given the opportunity to bypass this tidbit, but out of respect for my LJ friends who wish to remain free from such angst inducing information, the spoiler is behind the cut.

 

And since I don’t want to burst anyone else’s bubble, stop reading now if you want to remain all floaty and spoiler free.

 

 

Came home from work after a day of NCIS induced bliss to see an email from a friend.  This friend is on LJ and she tweets quite frequently with Sarah Jane Morris.  Well, here is the unofficial spoilery from a SJM tweet (paraphrased by my friend):

 

She (SJM) is hoping to continue on as EJ into S9 since her new pilot hasn’t been picked up yet.  According to her, that door hasn’t been completely closed and she is hoping that she will be asked to return.

 

WTF???  The only thing getting me thru the end of this season was the for sure knowledge that she would not be back!

 

Is this true or another clever ploy by TPTB to keep the stakes high?  They have been known to use twitter to further their own agenda, but would SJM lie to her fans?

 

If this is true, there goes all our theories about EJ being killed by the P2P killer.  Meh!

 

I know there are some EJ supporters out there who would like nothing more than to see her return – my friend included as she is majorly anti-tiva and anti-Ziva, but I think it would be to the detriment of the show.  Of course as you know I am biased, and they are welcome to their opinions as well.  Different boats (ships) for different folks, it’s what makes the world go round.

 

 

If I have to spend the summer hiatus wondering if EJ will return, I will suffer from anger management issues or will sink into apathy.  I am leaning towards apathy.  If the show keeps messing with me, I can and will find another.

 

NCIS – you aren’t the only fish in the sea - but dang it you just happen to be my favorite – so straighten up and act like it!!!!

 

BTW, my friend says you can go to SJM’s twitter page and read it for yourself, but you know what, I just don’t want to.  I may learn something else I don’t want to know, and my friend? I would call her a reliable source, so I don’t need to read it for myself.

You know what makes me laugh the most? All those people who are so pro-EJ right now because she isn't Ziva and they've got their panties in a twist over Ziva being mean to poor woobie Tony? You know the type that I'm talking about, the ones whining if Tony and Ziva are in even a single scene together for longer than twenty nanoseconds and bitching how the Tiva non-relationship relationship has turned the show into a soap. How long would it take for them to turn on the EJ character if they did keep her around for the sole reason that her entire purpose is to screw Tony?

No wonder I'm mostly done with NCIS. Blech.

Addendum: have they even filmed the finale yet? Given the normal fate of female NCIS agents, I think SJM is kind of counting her chickens before they hatch.

I don't think that they have, I think I read from Jesse Stern that they finished writing for 8.23 and he gave himself a cameo.

Counting her chickens? I would be a happy camper if that were the case.

Yes, I also learned this from that Sarah Jane Morris's Twitter page. They started filming the pentultimate episode on Monday, which means in theory they should start filming the finale next week.

It better be a lie. I don't mind EJ now but I don't want an entire season of her.

This just cemented my hate of twitter.

And Rigil I think the 8x24 filming is going to begin quite soon.

Don't worry--I just went and read the twitter page, and she confirms that she's only signed on through the end of season 8. (And that's the only thing that's said about the matter....)

As I was saying yesterday, though, I do like E.J. A third female character gives the show balance in a way it hasn't had since the days of Director Shepard, so whether E.J. or another character I would be in favor.

I hope your right. I am not opposed to another female character, like you, I would like to see more balance between the genders. What I am opposed to - the jealousy arcs. Why can't she just be an interesting capable agent and if TPTB put her with Tony -ok - as long as they don't draw out another season of jealous Ziva - or jealous Tony - it gets tiring.

Huh, interesting. I hadn't yet considered the EJ arc as a jealousy arc (like, literally hadn't crossed my mind). I guess I didn't perceive any of Ziva's actions in this episode as being jealous of EJ. Certainly Tony acted a little more obnoxiously towards Ray, but he's now gone as Ziva's boyfriend. But overall that lovely, mature scene at the end gives me hope that there won't be any petty jealousy plots.

I certainly hope she'll be gone at the end of this season. In my opinion her character is boring, unprofessional, insecure, and rude, and I wouldn't mind seeing her take a long walk off a short pier ;) Either way though, I'll deal!!

Don't fuss about it. She said herself, five eps and that's it. MW said her story will arc out at the end. And duh, of course she can't tell people if she's going to get killed by P2P, right? Rest easy.

Oh, no. This has ruined my day. I do not believe they would even contemplate bringing her back. Ratings have fallen since she was first introduced, surely that is a hint of the fact she is not liked and is seen as unnecessary?

The character is a rehash of so many female characters, she's totally unprofessional and rude - she has no place in NCIS.

I'm going to pin my hopes on the fact that it's just 'talk', that she's been asked about her new series and has to say something. As Sammy says she can't say she's going to be killed.

If she's back next season, I seriously doubt I'll bother getting up early to watch the episode.

If she does stay it'll be interesting to see how those people who like her (say they like her) and praise TPTB for introducing her simply because she is putting a wedge in the Tony/Ziva relationship and isn't Ziva feel if she and Tony hook up properly and their relationship becomes a big part of canon. Tony is the focus of many ships and people can hand wave a fling, but not if it becomes long term and serious. I seriously believe she would soon be disliked thoroughly and TPTB would be slagged off for having that angle.

It's all hot air; it's all hot air. I'm telling myself that, she cannot be staying; ratings are down and she has to say something about her 'future'.

EDIT: Okay, I'm on SJM's Twitter page now and TBH, I can't see from where your friend got her information. The only two references I can see are replies to two people.

One asks about her new show & SJM says: I hope so! USA show isn't picked up yet. At this point I COULD do both, no set contract for either.

And another reply to someone who asks if she could be returning next season. SJM says: um, i don't think I said that...just hopeful along w some others. Only signed on til end of season 8.

To me this says she'd like to return, but not that the door is still open for her to do so. The bad news is, it really does seem to imply she won't die *sighs* Unless she doesn't know yet - i.e. we don't actually see her killed, we are just told she's dead *Looks hopeful*

So to me it is all wishful thinking on behalf of SJM and not hints at all from the NCIS PTB that it might happen.

I am so sorry that this ruined your day, it totally burst my happy little Tiva bubble.

But like you I am crossing all available appendages and hoping for the best and the part about not knowing her own fate makes sense, I seem to remember reading somewhere that even the regular cast members have no idea how this is all gonna turn out.

How sad is it that my biggest desire right now is to see EJ on Ducky's table?

I am glad that you read SJM's tweets - you are braver than I as I was afraid I would learn more than my little tiva loving heart could handle.

My friend has an anti-Ziva bias and she views all through foggy glasses.

Oh, they don't. I'm sure they don't. I know from what they've said in the past often they don't know the crucial scene until the characters in it are given that page from the script and those not in it, don't know what happens.

*Grins* Not sad at all - I'm with you on that.

I like to do my own research for certain things and it seemed apposite for this, especially as you did mention your friend was anti-Ziva :-(
